About Southern Sweden Design Days
10–13 September 2020 the first edition of Southern Sweden Design Days will take place in Malmö, Sweden. A number of events and activities will be held in the city such as exhibitions, seminars, networking events and festivities with the overall aim of showcasing the local design scene, from a conceptual rather than commercial perspective. Southern Sweden Design Days is organized by Form/Design Center – a meeting place for architecture, design and craft in Malmö.
SPOK is a production platform that aims to gather and spread knowledge about local manufacturing possibilities ranging from handicrafts to industries. SPOK has Skåne as its starting point and aims to promote the development of local production and in the long term also more-local consumption. SPOK was founded and developed by Jenny Nordberg, who is also its creative leader. Form/Design Center is the principal for the project, which is implemented with support from Region Skåne and the City of Malmö.
SUSTAINORDIC is a platform and network that aims to promote sustainable consumption and production based on a Nordic perspective, in accordance with the UN’s Global Goal 12 of Agenda 2030. SUSTAINORDIC yearly publish The Nordic Report, a publication that focuses on Nordic examples of sustainable production and consumption stemming from political, academic and commercial initiatives. The originators and project owners of SUSTAINORDIC are ArkDes and Form/Design Center.
Form/Design Center is a meeting place, a venue for inspiration and a knowledge hub within architecture and design. At Form/Design Center you can visit exhibitions, our shop and café, or take part in workshops and lectures. Form/Design Center is also a platform for the design industry and a partner in selected development projects. Form/Design Center is run by Svensk Form Syd, a nonprofit organization. The Center is funded with support from the Ministry of Culture, the City of Malmö, Region Skåne and the Swedish Arts Council.
